BAROKTHEGREAT is an experimental performing arts group founded in 2008 by dancer-choreographer Sonia Brunelli and musician-composer Leila Gharib. They live, work and study in Verona. Since its formation the imaginary of the company arises in the intimate and ancient relationship between dance and music, explored mainly on the dynamics of adherence between the choreographic gesture, the physicality of sound and the architecture of space as an inhabitable device. With the collaboration of international artists they create inner worlds where figuers from past and contemporary live. A peculiar aspect of their works is the representation of emotions' conflict, between light and shadow, anamorphic and familiar. They get into theaters, clubs, museums e art galleries, site-specific locations.
